Summer weekend
IEVA MARIJA x SKANDIAMO
2025 JULY 31
We invite you to take a closer look at the stunning spaces of the Aštrioji Kiršna Manor, its enchanting nature and the slow-paced holiday of Skandiamo ambassador Ieva Marija Frišmantė at this historic estate. Ieva Marija shares insights about family moments together, the importance of design in her daily life, her sense of aesthetics in even the smallest moments and the grounding rituals she cherishes.
How did your friendship with Skandiamo begin?
I am one of Skandiamo’s first brand ambassadors, which I consider a great honour. Our partnership began with a Christmas decor project, during which I created inspirations for Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year themes. This was followed by new projects, joint events and even trips. It is one of those ambassadorships where I feel a strong alignment of values. I deeply admire Skandiamo’s sustainable philosophy, feel a close connection to Scandinavian aesthetics and find the products and brands represented by Skandiamo endlessly inspiring in both creativity and design.
You are a very active person. What helps you slow down, stay grounded and rest?
I love writing things down. I write a lot every single day. Anything that doesn’t make it onto paper seems to swirl around in my head in chaotic confusion - from household chores and responsibilities to work tasks, new ideas and plans for tomorrow or even the years ahead. In my notes, I also include time for myself and small tasks that help me reconnect with who I am. I know that if I don’t write them down alongside my work tasks, they simply don’t happen.
Where do you find inspiration?
It might seem simple, but I find inspiration in nature, exploring new places and movies. I also love to observe people who inspire me and capture the feeling of how they make me feel.
How do you usually spend your holidays? Do you prefer adventure or relaxation?
Since we are immersed in life with small children, we undoubtedly seek opportunities to rest. However, wherever we go, we tend to call it a change of scenery rather than a true holiday. Still, a new place can inspire us, enrich us with views and simple experiences in nature. Time spent away feels special because it is uninterrupted by daily household tasks, and we have the luxury of spending the entire day together.
You work as a event spaces decorator. Is the environment you live in daily just as important to you as the one you create for others through Vynvytis?
Absolutely. My home is my favourite place in the world. It is where I feel comfortable, safe and surrounded by sentiments. In my living environment, I value a clean, neutral, and high-quality foundation, which I enjoy enhancing with vintage finds, children’s drawings, souvenirs from travels and other functional design objects.
How important are design objects to you in everyday life?
I believe a good, new design object is one that embodies a lot of timelessness. It has the potential to remain relevant for a long time, age beautifully and maintain its quality and usability over many years. I definitely have many such pieces in my spaces, both at home and at work - and I won’t lie, they bring me joy. I truly enjoy being surrounded by a beautiful and inspiring environment.
Are design elements and interior aesthetics important to you even during holidays?
Yes. Since all my work and activities revolve around creating visual experiences for spaces, celebrations and events, it is no surprise that my attention is drawn to distinctive locations, unique spaces and unconventional solutions. We are visiting Kiršna Manor for the third time - what captivated me here is the authenticity of the spaces, the striking contrast between old and new and the tranquility of nature. In this place, everything seems to reveal itself in different colors because the environment and backdrop are simply stunning.
What currently catches your eye? What trends do you see in home decor?
As mentioned earlier, contrast is key - whether in textures, colors, or sizes. Combinations of old and new, a strong return to vintage, quality and durability. Materials such as wood, metal and products made from recycled materials are prominent.
