More than 50 years ago, two friends – Niels Stellan Høm and Carton Madelaire, founded a joint manufacturing company. Naming it STELTON, they combined not only their visions and efforts but also their names: Stellan + Carton. Initially producing sports footwear and furniture, the company’s true potential began to unfold when they partnered with the metalworking firm Danish Stainless and started manufacturing stainless steel tableware and kitchen tools. The turning point came with a sauce jug that became an instant favorite, flying off store shelves and capturing the public’s attention. Gradually, STELTON products gained popularity not only in trendy interior design stores but also in everyday homes. A significant influence on the company's growth came from Peter Holmblad, who joined later and brought a strong understanding of aesthetics and design – along with close family ties to none other than Arne Jacobsen. Peter, who was also Arne’s godson, convinced the famed architect to design a unique tableware collection for STELTON. It’s said that the first sketches of the now-iconic CYLINDA–LINE collection were drawn on a simple paper napkin during a family dinner – yet, like many of Arne Jacobsen’s creations, the collection went on to become one of STELTON’s all-time bestsellers.
Today, STELTON stands for a harmonious blend of time-honored Scandinavian design traditions and a contemporary, functional approach to everyday living.
