During the 1950s and 1960s, Arne Jacobsen designed numerous houses in Rødovre, a suburb of Copenhagen. One of these was the Rødovre Town Hall, unveiled in 1956. The building drew inspiration from the General Motors Technical Center near Detroit, USA. Employing straight lines, classic proportions, and a modern outlook, Arne Jacobsen was responsible not only for the building's structure, but its entire interior, furnishings, and details.
CITY HALL WALL is a design from 1956. The standout feature of this series is the graphic, stylized dial, echoing the minimalist ethos of the Rødovre Town Hall. The watch's bezel, merging seamlessly with the white dial, further enhances its aesthetic purity. Mounted on a white wall, CITY HALL WALL creates the illusion that its timekeeping elements are floating in the air.
