As one of the most beloved IITTALA collections, TAIKA continues to captivate design enthusiasts, now introducing an addition to its series – TAIKA SATO.

TAIKA SATO is an inspiring and original collection of tableware and table accessories, comprising 28 distinct items: serving plates, vases, decorative dishes, mugs, glasses, dinner plates, bowls, towels, and napkins, each adorned with a unique thematic illustration by Klaus Haapaniemi.

Klaus Haapaniemi (born 1970) is a Finnish artist, designer, and author, residing and working in both Berlin, Germany, and Tampere, Finland. Known for his depth of perception, his works invite others to see, feel, and understand on a deeper level. His creative energy draws from a deep connection to nature and the identity of the Nordic lifestyle.

Rich in natural vitality, TAIKA SATO celebrates the beauty of spectacular fruits and vegetables. While not everyone may notice it with their own eyes, the artistic touch of Klaus Haapaniemi brings this beauty to life with magical forms and colours.

What is truly remarkable is that SATO doesn't simply feature repetitive patterns, but an entire world of vegetation. Each piece has its own distinct character and story. Everyday fruits and vegetables, abstractly adorned with various patterns and textures, transcend into works of art, heroes of the imagination, or remain wonderful gifts from nature – a magical harvest!

The dishes in the TAIKA SATO collection are made from durable Vitra porcelain, making most suitable for use in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. More intricately shaped vases and decorative lidded jars from the TAIKO SATO series are recommended to be hand-washed only.
