Designer and sculptor Timo Sarpaneva (1926-2006) was an internationally recognized Finnish design authority. It is said that this master of many materials had a rare ability to evoke and worship beauty. His rise to the peak of the design world began in 1950.
Sarpaneva's works are exhibited in homes and museums around the world. His body of work includes both practical and artistic glass items, as well as textile and graphic creations. Sarpaneva played an important role at "Iittala." He designed the "i" logo, which serves as the company's symbol. Included in the "Iittala" collection is the cast-iron pot created by Sarpaneva in 1960, which became an internationally recognized symbol of the designer.
