Renzo Piano (b. 1937) is an Italian architect and engineer, considered one of the most important designers of the 20th century. His works are widely recognized for their unique calmness and harmony, which redefined both modernist and postmodernist architecture. In 2006, Piano was included in „Time“ magazine's list of the most influential people. Some of his renowned projects include the „Pompidou Centre“ in Paris, the „St. Michael’s Stadium“ in Bari, Italy, and the „Kansai International Airport“ in Osaka. Renzo Piano also designed the layout of „Potsdamer Platz“ in Berlin, the „New York Times Building“ in New York, and „The Shard“ in London. The architect has received numerous prestigious international awards, including the „Pritzker Prize“, „Compasso d’Oro“, and „Erasmus Prize“.
