Norwegian designer Mia Hamborg (born 1980), who earned her Bachelor's degree in furniture design from Steneby School of Craft and Design in Gothenburg, has a strong passion for order, functionality, and color. In her playful and joyful furniture designs, she continues the long-standing Nordic tradition of woodturning, giving the material a fresh and modern expression. Mia does not follow strict design rules – instead, her work is inspired by a zest for life.
One of her most notable creations is the whimsical
„Shuffle“
table, featuring a turned, colorful wooden leg composed of stackable parts. Drawing from old toy-like forms, Mia reimagines traditional Scandinavian woodturning techniques with a vibrant twist. The table can be customized by arranging the individual turned pieces, allowing users to create a version that best suits their home – adding not only function, but also a touch of joy.
