Swedish designer Matti Klenell (born in 1972) graduated from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in 1999. He gained recognition for his innovative approach to Scandinavian aesthetics and his refined balance between form and function. In 2000, he founded his own practice – Matti Klenell Studio, which handles a variety of serial production commissions as well as unique design projects for both public institutions and private clients. One of his most well-known creations is the
„Four“
vase, designed for Muuto in 2006. In 2010, he developed the Birds collection for
„Iittala“. Matti Klenell has been named Sweden’s Designer of the Year and has received several prestigious national and international awards. In 2003, he was honored with the esteemed Ljunggren Design Prize, and his works are featured in the collections of various museums around the world.
