Spanish design icon Jaime Hayon (“chai-me chai-on”) – a Madrid native born in 1974 – is known for his bold, imaginative, and highly original work. After studying industrial design in Madrid and Paris, he joined FABRICA – the design and communication research center established by BENETTON in Treviso, Italy – where he led the design department until 1997. In 2000, Jaime founded his own studio and has since collaborated with numerous renowned creators and global brands. Jaime Hayon is a distinctive and fearless personality – constantly venturing into new creative territories, experimenting with materials and forms, and infusing his work with a healthy dose of humor and playfulness. Despite this whimsical approach, his creations remain virtuosic and deeply sincere. It’s no surprise that even the esteemed Financial Times dubbed him the “jester prince of design” and featured him on their cover. “Happiness is an attitude,” Jaime believes – and his work is a clear, vibrant reflection of that mindset. His name is closely associated with leading design brands such as FRITZ HANSEN, MAGIS, B.D. BARCELONA, EXPORMIM, MOOOI, CECCOTTI, SE LONDON, and many others.
