Danish architect Grethe Mayer (1918–2008) was a remarkable figure in design history. Known for her courage, unique perspective, and boundless energy, she created subtle design objects aimed at enhancing people’s lives – both practically and aesthetically. Born in 1918 in the small town of Svendborg, Denmark, she graduated as an architect in 1947 and was notably the only woman in her class. In 1960, she opened her own studio and devoted most of her life to her work and creativity. Her client list included renowned global manufacturers such as ROYAL COPENHAGEN, GEORG JENSEN, FRITZ HANSEN, and many others.
