In 1942, architects Arne Jacobsen and Eric Møller designed the Aarhus City Hall building. The original plans didn't include a clock tower, as Jacobsen regarded it as an entirely superfluous addition. Nonetheless, responding to the citizens' requests, the architects designed the tower, adorning the town hall with a majestic 60-metre-high structure encompassed by geometric line intersections reminiscent of a cube's framework. Interestingly, the large clock designed for this tower found its place not at the very top, but in the middle.
ROMAN ALARM – an alarm clock designed by Arne Jacobsen. The clock face is adorned with Roman numerals, and the style is characterised by the architect's remarkable simplicity and clean lines. The black face highlights the elegant design, linking it to architecture.
