Designed with dark Nordic winters in mind, the Fireplace Lamp brings warmth and coziness to any space. Whether used as a reading light or to create a soft, atmospheric glow, it embodies Takeda’s philosophy of bridging past and future in the present. In his work as a designer and interior architect, ancient wooden tables are often juxtaposed with modern spaces, while recycled materials are transformed into meaningful design statements.

Both a sculpture and a source of light, the Fireplace Lamp redefines design by merging form and function. Enclosed within a slotted cylinder, its dimmable light creates shifting patterns of light and shadow across floors, tables, and windows. The mouth-blown glass, suspended upside down above a base reminiscent of crossed logs, evokes the warmth and flicker of a real fireplace. As the viewer moves, the interplay of light changes as well, creating a dynamic and immersive experience. The HYBE DESIGN TEAM has created an object that goes beyond pure functionality, making memory and movement an integral part of its design.
