Over time, untreated natural wood outdoor furniture and accessories acquire a mature silver-grey patina. To maintain the wood's warm tones, use SKAGERAK special oil CURA, tailored for protecting outdoor wooden furniture. CURA is perfect for teak, Canadian red cedar, cherry, mahogany, and other woods with similar properties. The oil penetrates effectively, naturally darkens the wood, and simultaneously shields it from moisture, dirt, and grease.
1. Thoroughly clean the wood's surface before oiling. After wiping with a damp cloth, let the wood dry thoroughly for a minimum of 24 hours. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures; however, ensure the air temperature is not below 13°C.
2. Before oiling, smooth out wood splinters with sandpaper.
3. Stir the oil thoroughly before application.
4. Using a brush or a lint-free cotton cloth, ensure the surface is evenly coated.
5. Using a clean cloth, remove any excess oil within 20 minutes of application.
6. If the wood surface does not seem adequately oiled, repeat steps 4 and 5 a few more times.
7. The oil takes 48 hours to fully cure. Do not wet the wood until it is fully cured.
8. We recommend repeating the oiling process 1–2 times a year.
